Water is in direct contact with ice, the lowest sustained water supply temperature that can be achieved is 1.1oC.

1.1oC offers you.

Wider temperature range, i.e. up to 14oC temperature differential versus 6.6oC and 10oC temperature differential respectively for conventional chilled water system and encapsulated ice system. This requires lower flow rate; which in turn translates into lower energy consumption.

Smaller system components (air-handling units, water pumps, distribution pipes) due to wider temperature range, which in turn provides more energy savings.

Lower chilled water supply temperature also enables better control of humidity for comfort cooling.
